This trail is the old donkey route that connected Apollonia to Kamares. Kamares has always been an important port in Sifnos. Walking it downwards is easy and enjoyable, and the trail itself as well as the view of the gorge are very interesting. At about mid-way, you will pass by the church of Panagia Platanissa (or Platanou).

TIPS

On the way from Apollonia to Panagia Platanissa church, you will see at some point on your left hand a huge gate built of square stone blocks. It is the gate of an ancient tower, still standing!

Trail 10A is an alternative route to the first part of trail 10, linking Kamares to Kalambelas, and from there to Artemonas (through trail 7) or Apollonia (trail 7A).

TIPS

Trail 10A can be combined with trails 10 and 7A, thus completing a nice loop trail, ideal for an afternoon walk!
